Charles G. Cannon, Chairman
Charles Cannon is the Assistant Dean of the UC Irvine School of Law, a member of the American Bar Association and Association of American Law Schools, and currently serves as its Chairman of the Board.Charles relocated to Orange County to assist in the founding of the new UC Irvine School of Law, following nearly 20 years at UCLA School of Law. He also serves on the board of the UCI Paralegal Program and the de Angelis Vocal Ensemble.

Michelle Sherman, RPh, FASCP AAHIVE, Vice Chairman
Michelle Sherman is a nationally recognized HIV Specialist Pharmacist practicing in Orange County for over 18 years, and she currently serves as vice chairman. She has extensive experience and expertise with HIV medications, adherence and resistance issues, ADAP, CalOptima/Medi-Cal, Medicare Part D issues, HIV sensitivity issues and pharmaceutical care services for HIV infected individuals.

Scott Tyree, Treasurer
Scott Tyree came to Shanti’s Board through his position as COO of Pacific Pharmacy Group, a group that includes Garden Grove Pharmacy; and currently serves as treasurer. He has been in the field of HIV care since 1989, and his passion is providing exemplary treatment for patients living with chronic disease. He believes that education, empowerment, and support make patients live stronger, healthier lives. Scott spends all of his free time with his wife, Nadine, and their two children, and can often be found at his son’s baseball games or at a father-daughter dance.

Tom Ray
Tom Ray has been a part of the Shanti Board of Directors since 2008. He has run a series of successful businesses over the past thirty years and brings his experience and sound business acumen to the Shanti, OC.Tom’s heartfelt desire is to grow the agency into a thriving non–profit business that is able to fully focus on helping people maintain a normal life, both physically and mentally, in light of the lingering adversity in today’s society and the impact that HIV/AIDS medications have on both the body and emotions.Tom’s positive attitude and generous spirit are contagious and deeply appreciated by Shanti’s clients, staff and the Board of Directors. His dedication to the success and of this agency is tangible – demonstrated by his unstoppable enthusiasm to encourage, help out, and to give freely of his time and resources. Tom’s attitude is well summarized in his own words: “Share the compassion and help one another”

Kent Rhodes
Kent is an associate with the Family Business Consulting Group and serves as core faculty with Pepperdine University’s doctoral programs in Organization Leadership and Organizational Change. He founded OnCourse Network, Inc., an Internet education company and successfully negotiated its sale to eMarketplace in 2000, subsequently serving as its managing director until accepting an appointment with Pepperdine.

Ruth Weaver
Ruth Weaver is a Shanti Ambassador and brings to the Board a long–term background in non–profit work. She has served on several non–profit boards, ranging from 12–step recovery to child abuse prevention. Committed to service, Ruth frequently volunteers her time and skills to organizations whose mission she believes in. For the past several years she has been an outspoken advocate for women and families who live with HIV/AIDS and strongly believes in the life enhancing value of education and confidential support. Ruth is passionate about Shanti’s mission to grow its services to both infected and affected individuals and families.
