1.What this page covers
This page is about shantioc.org — the website you are reading. It explains what the site collects when you visit it.
It is not about your health record. How we handle information about your care is a separate document with legal requirements of its own: our Notice of Privacy Practices, linked at the top of this page.
2.What this website collects
Browsing this site does not require you to tell us anything about yourself, and we do not ask you to create an account.
Like most websites, ours records ordinary technical information as you browse: the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, the type of device and browser you use, and how you arrived. We use it to understand which pages are useful and to fix problems. We do not use it to try to work out who you are.
We do not sell this information, and we do not share it to let other companies advertise to you elsewhere.
3.When you contact us or ask about services
The “get started” and contact forms on this site are provided by SimplePractice, the system our clinicians use to manage care. What you type goes directly to SimplePractice — this website does not see it, and does not keep a copy.
Anything you tell us in one of those forms, or by phone or email, is handled under our Notice of Privacy Practices once you are in contact with us about services.
Please do not include detailed health information in an email. Ordinary email is not a secure way to send it. If you need to tell us something sensitive, call us instead.
4.If we email you a survey after a session
Clients who have had a session may receive a short email asking how it went. That email contains a private link that works only for you, expires, and stops working once you have answered.
The survey lives on a separate site of ours at survey.shantioc.org. It carries no analytics or advertising trackers of any kind, and the answers are used to improve care. Answering is voluntary, and choosing not to answer has no effect on the services you receive.
6.Children
This website is written for adults seeking services or information. We do not knowingly collect information from children through it. Young people do receive services from us, and information about their care is covered by our Notice of Privacy Practices, not this page.
7.Links to other sites
We link to other organizations — community resources, partners, and services we refer people to. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's site, under their privacy practices, not ours. We suggest reading theirs.
8.Changes to this page
We will update this page when our practices change, and the review date at the top will tell you when it last happened.
