What is the Sea of Hearts?
The Sea of Hearts is a community HIV/AIDS awareness raising project. The hearts represent the 'sea' of people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS in Orange County. It raises HIV/AIDS awareness and provides you with a unique opportunity to make a powerful statement of support for people affected by HIV/AIDS in your life and in your community.
At Sea of Hearts project sites hundreds of red and pink hearts are 'planted' in the ground. Individuals, businesses and organizations are invited to get involved. They may give a donation of any amount, and dedicate a heart to someone they care about who is affected by the disease, or send a message of hope to the HIV/AIDS affected community. Individuals or groups may attend a Sea of Hearts event and personally dedicate and 'plant' hearts, or may dedicate hearts in advance and Shanti will 'plant' them at the event!
Sea of Hearts projects have been successfully held at Laguna Beach in 2007 and 2008. Watch this space for future project dates and locations.
